Why we created this site?

This website has been created to teach other primary school children to learn French and particularly about food in French.

Who it is intended to help?

This website is intended to help all children plus ones with a learning disability or language learning problems. We have created lots of games to make learning French fun.

So when did we create this site?

We started creating this website in November 2008 and we aim to finish it by the end of April 09.

 How did we create this site? 

We used Front page 2003 to create the main website, RM colour magic for editing the photos and for the games we used 2 Simple DIY and Hot Potatoes. We used Jasc animation workshop for creating our own animated icons. The videos were edited with Microsoft windows movie maker. Sound files were recorded and edited using Audacity. We tested our website using internet explorer 7 and Firefox.

On this website we used the font comic sans MS because it was simple and easy to read. We tried to make the backgrounds relate to French food or that related to that particular page and didn't interfere with the rest of the page. Finally we tried to use the colours red, white, and blue wherever possible because they are the colours of the French flag.  

Future improvements...

We wanted to create a character called 'Peewee' who would speak on each page and tell the children what to do, but we ran out of time to do this. We would like to add more to the website such as learning sentences but we haven't had time for this yet. We would welcome any help, advice, or additional material. To contact us click HERE.

Problems we had to overcome...

The biggest problem we had was when more than one person was updating the same page and then one of them lost their work. We had to try and make sure this didn't happen by asking the rest of the team before we started to edit a page.

The Team

Isobel - Was responsible for the index page, breakfast page and created animated icons using Jasc animation shop 3.

Jono - Was responsible for the Lunch page, recording lots of the sound files and the 'all about this website' page

Helena - Helena was responsible for creating and decorating the pizza page and making the pizza game.

Amelia- was responsible for the some games and répas page.

John- was responsible for the les activities page and some of the quizzes and putting together all the games on the games page.

James- was responsible making a quiz and some of the sound files.

James 2- tested our games (lucky).

We all checked the pages for errors.
