Heating Your Home

The right temperature for your home is 21 deg. C or 70 deg. F, if any higher turn down immediately. 

Did you know condenser boilers are the most efficient type to install in your home. Although quite expensive they can save £100 in heating costs... Wow.

Fit thermostatic control to radiators in each main room, only heat rooms you need to.

Shut your curtains and Blinds at Dusk. This will help keep most of the heat inside your house and also it helps to insulate the windows.

Solar Energy

  • Have you ever thought about solar energy it will save you money and save the environment.   

  • Did you know there are Grants available from the government to pay up to 50% of the cost to install solar energy in your home.

Lighting
  • Use energy saving bulbs whenever possible, these last longer and use less energy
  • Turns light off when not in use -saves energy!
  • Buy light shades which don't shade too much light, then you can buy lower powered light bulbs

 

Use Low Energy Light Bulbs

Cooking Food

  • When you are cooking small amounts of food, try to use the microwave, it uses less energy than an oven.

Switch those TV's off Standby
  • All ways turn off all your stereos TV  and computers off standby, It may seem useless but it will save a lot of energy in the long run.
