These are the minutes from the last Eco meetings.

Eco meeting 1.4.03

All present including Julia, Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. Duffy.

  • Julia congratulated everyone on their very successful Eco assembly.

  • Reduction of Lunchbox waste. The presentation of Clair and Roger was discussed. The committee agreed that this was still an area in need of development. It was decide that a reminder would be placed in the newsletter, part of an assembly would involve teaching children to reuse containers/put crisp packets into aluminium recycle barrel/lunchbox compost go onto the Panda. It as also decided that a meeting with dinner controllers would be beneficial in getting the message across. Mrs. Duffy to organize.

  • Paper shredding. The possibility of doing this was discussed. The shredded paper to be sold. Katie will take this to the Student Council for further discussion. Sam will find out how much shredders cost, and health and safety implications.

  • Lights. Children to ask classes to be more vigilant. Teachers are to "catch" children switching off the lights and to give House points.

  • Dates of Eco meetings will be distributed to members. They are to be posted on folders.

  • To ask Mr. Jones for completed Eco code.

  • NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 8th April. Please bring your folders!

Eco meeting 8.4.03

All present including Mrs. Duffy.

  • Mrs. Duffy said that the composting was going extremely well, and that there were lots of fruits and vegetables being composted.

  • The paper shredder was talked about and Mr. Jones has agreed to the idea. A letter is to be written to council to ask for a £300 grant to buy a paper shredder. The point of getting a shredder is so we can re use the paper we have finished with. It will go to the local chickens in the village.
