Australlia life at home...

                        Food at home:

Breakfast:       A typical Australian breakfast is quite similar to an English one! children enjoy cereal and toast with toppings such as: Peanut butter or jam. Some children also have tea or a cooked egg as well.

Lunch:           Lunch is a simple meal in Australia people there have sandwiches or maybe two minute noodles  if they are at home for lunch. Once a week at school they are allowed to order food from the local general store. On these days they choose: pies, sausage rolls or mini pizzas . A more detailed description of their lunch box  is: sandwiches or salad roll with fruit, fruit and muesli bars, packets of chips and biscuits; And in the summer frozen cordial or fruit juice and in the winter a thermos flask of soup or a hot drink (such as hot chocolate).

Dinner:          For dinner the Australian children enjoy homemade dinners such as lasagne, home made pies, stews and roasts, sausages, chicken and sometimes two-minute noodle.

Leisure: Most children watch about three hours of television a day and on the weekends up to 10 hours a day! There is a place near Burrumbuttock (where they live) called Tawonga, which is a caravan park, with a river nearby to swim in.

Homework: On Monday nights the children have spelling sentences (something you may hear about on the 'at school' page), On Tuesday they get spelling matters where they are tested on their spelling sentences. Wednesday is mental maths and on Thursday they have BTN. On Tuesday they watch 'Behind The News' program then their teacher asks them 10 questions about what happened on the show. They then have to write a report on one of the subjects: once the teacher has marked it they can take it home and publish it in their publication  books.
