Life at School in Germany

In our web team we are all 11/12 years old, we are classes 5 and 6.

Our school is called Theresia-Haselmayr-Schule Dillingen

We start our days at 7:55am and go home again at 12:50pm

The most important lessons are in German, maths, sciences, arts, sports, music, handicraft (for boys) and textile work (for girls)cooking and working on pc’s for all. Our new school garden is under construction (with pupils).

We have breakfast at school, not at home because we start school so early!

We leave school at 12.50, we have lunch at home. So it is not necessary to have cooked school lunches at school. If there are some groups here in the afternoon, the children bring their own lunch to school. These groups have a short break, about 30 minutes.

Bavarian Sausage

Our breaktime in the morning is from 10:10 to 10:35.

PE - At school we play football, basketball, other games with balls, running games, swimming and so on. Some children started with teakwondo in special groups in the afternoon, but they have to pay something for the teachers (coming from a teakwondo-school in Dillingen).

For breakfast we have very different things, some have bread with butter and jam or honey, some with sausages, some eat corn flakes or milk products ....

We have no school uniforms and no school clubs.

The children have homework for about one hour a day.

Sometimes we have lessons there (for biology, special forest – days)
