like their Aquatic cousins the tortoise have protection against predators i.e. a hard shell. The top part of the shell is called the carapace, the underside is called the plastron, and the two are connected by the bridge i.e. the sides. The Tortoise has a endoskeleton as well as a exoskeleton. Tortoises can vary from a size of a few cm to two meters.
This snake is a close relative of the UK's Grass Snake and is equally as harmless. This snake is called the dice snake its Greek name is Nerofido or water snake this name gives a strong idea of its habits. Although its not a sea snake it can live on the shores of Crete which is very close to Greece it can also stay submerged in water for very considerable periods.
Foxes belong to the medium-sized omnivorous canids in the tribe vulpini. They have sharp features long bushy tails and known for their incredible mating power i.e. they can produce a lot of babies. probably the most common of foxes is the red fox native to Britain.
